Fake news and hate speech in the media increased significantly in 2017 and has continued to grow ever since. 

In fact, the most challenging issue encountered by Safaricom, the largest mobile service provider with over 26 million members, in 2017 was the sheer volume of fake news pouring through their systems.

Over the course of the 2022 Kenyan election period, more misinformation and disinformation continued to spread. Have you been able to spot it on your newsfeed?
